Sāturnus 

Inspired by the mesmerizing rings of Saturn, "Sāturnus" is a seating collection that translates celestial motion into tangible form. It consists of two versions: a sculptural throne-like loveseat, designed as an artistic centerpiece, and a functional armchair, which adapts the concept for everyday use.
The design began with an exploration of Saturn’s rings—how they orbit fluidly yet remain structured. This contrast between movement and stability became the foundation of the form. The circular seat represents the planet itself, while the surrounding upholstered segments mimic the layered, dynamic bands of ice and rock that define Saturn’s striking appearance. By arranging these elements rhythmically, the chair creates a sense of orbiting energy frozen in time.

With Sāturnus, I wanted to create more than just furniture—I aimed to bring the awe of the cosmos into an intimate, interactive experience where celestial beauty meets contemporary design.
